Before I'd invest in a starter, I would need to know that is the only item not working to start the bike. If it just won't crank, turn the key on and see if the headlight comes on. If not check the battery as it could be bad. They only seem to last about 4 years. Then check the 2 fuses under the seat on the RH side If either of them are open it won't crank. then starting from the battery + remove, check for loose connections, open/broken wires, all the way through the relay to the starter. do the same on the battery- side. then check the control circuits for the starter, side stand, nuetral switch(dash light will usually check it), clutch switch, starter button for good connections open or broken wires. To see of they are working correctly. Use an continunity tester or ohmmeter to insure each item is open when it should and closed when it should. look for signs of high resistance (browning of the connection or wire) along the way. I found the wire to headlight in the 12 way connector on mine was burned and had to jump around it. Suddenly the headlight is bright in daylight again. If all this fails and you have power with a test light all the way to the starter wire when the key is on and starter button is pushed, I'd remove the starter and check or have it checked out by an starter/electical specialist. On one of these formums someone files down oversize starter brushes to replace the orginal worn ones. If you need a wiring diagram FAXED to you e-mail me direct. Max
